Our Mission
The world is a rapidly changing place.
Our name, for(e)thought, invites creatives to think of the future: how culture, technology, and art could change to shape the world we live in.
The parenthesized “e” describes the goal of our work – “for thought.” We want each collection to spark new conversations and connections. Based in California, US, for(e)thought is led by high schoolers and youth from around the world.
We publish two primary mediums of art.
First, design work – including, but not limited to architecture, product, graphic, and fashion. This category is essential to our mission. for(e)thought explores design thinking: how we can best create better products and tools for people around the world. The prototypes and concepts developed today reflect genuine challenges experienced around the world.
Secondly, writing and visual art – including, but not limited to poetry, plays, well-nuanced nonfiction and opinion essays, paintings, comics, sculpture, and mixed-media. These art forms carry with them immense responsibility. They’re outlets for expression and feeling. We’re interested in who you are and what story you have to tell. With each stroke of a brush or letter typed, you are spilling the ink of your identity. The future is created from us, not despite us.
We will never charge for access to our artists' work.
Each collection is an interdisciplinary fusion of art that gives readers a fresh take on the youth perspective of life, society, and where we’re headed. We hope you'll join us on this journey.
p.s. If you’re interested in helping us build this world, come join us! If you’re younger than 21 and have interests in creating writing, journalism, art/design, video editing, marketing, or web development, we would love to work with you.
